Female Founders Conference</a> back in person, and we’ll be hosting it on August 2 at our office in the Dogpatch in San Francisco.</p><p>For the first time since 2018, we’ll gather current and future founders who identify as women together to share their stories, give advice, and make connections. </p><p>If you are an engineer or scientist and you’re thinking about starting a startup, we hope hearing stories from women founders will inspire you to take the leap yourself. </p><p>Throughout the day, you’ll meet YC partners and alumni, and other smart builders who want to solve problems and start impactful companies. There are a lot of great YC startups that are experiencing rapid growth — despite COVID — and actively hiring in engineering, product and more. We want to create a space for engineers and others to learn more about these companies, their technology, and engage directly with founders and their teams, in small groups and 1-1.
We’re excited to announce our first-ever YC Build Sprint. This is a 4-week period to work intensively towards a defined goal alongside a community of thousands of other founders. It’s likely that the responsibility of hosting virtual events no longer falls solely on the webinar expert in your organization. It’s now a necessity for all teams to host their own virtual events to stay connected with customers, employees and followers. The uptick in virtual events at YC — and amongst YC companies — has reminded us that the details matter. For an audience to find an event truly valuable, you have to remove distractions and over prepare for the hiccups. Here is a list of dos and don’ts when it comes to hosting a virtual event:
Join us for a fireside chat with YC partner Aaron Harris, hosted by Harvard WiCS. Aaron graduated from Harvard in 2006 and has been a partner at YC since 2013. He’ll share what he’s learned from working with over 1,000 startups, and he’ll talk about what you should work on while you’re in school if you’re interested in starting a company. Food and drink will be served.
