About the Role

We’re hiring a scrappy, hungry founding sales hire to help us build and scale our go-to-market engine. You’ll work closely with the founder and GTM lead to identify and close new business, build relationships with existing customers, and help shape the future of the company. This is a full-time, in-person role based in Austin, TX.

This isn’t your typical sales job—you’ll be selling, onboarding, supporting, and helping drive retention and expansion. You’ll be on the ground floor of something big, and if you do well, there’s a clear path to leadership or a closing role as the team grows.

What You’ll Do

  • Prospect and qualify new leads—primarily home service franchisees who are overwhelmed with demand and hungry to scale
  • Leverage referrals, warm intros, and social engineering to reach decision-makers through existing customers and franchise partners
  • Run outbound campaigns via email, LinkedIn, and phone to generate new pipeline
  • Lead demo calls, help close deals, and onboard new customers to ensure a strong start
  • Build relationships with SMB owners and serve as a trusted partner—this means ongoing support, gathering feedback, and helping them grow
  • Own key partnerships with franchisors, search funds, ETA groups, and PE firms
  • Work closely with the founder and GTM lead to refine our messaging, improve tooling and CRM, and shape sales and onboarding processes
  • Contribute to content and marketing strategy to support growth and retention
  • Travel to meet partners and represent Drillbit at industry conferences and events
  • Be accountable for revenue, retention, and net revenue expansion (usage based and transactional revenue) across your accounts

  • You have 2+ years in a sales role (BDR, AE, or full-cycle) working with SMBs
  • You’ve worked at an early-stage startup or want to be part of one now
  • You’re proactive, resourceful, and excited to wear many hats
  • You thrive in fast-moving, ambiguous environments
