Founding Engineer at Retrofit (YC W25)

Retrofit is looking for a brilliant full-stack engineer to join as our Founding Engineer. You’ll work closely with the founder to build the core infrastructure, AI features, and user-facing product that powers the future of shopping. From backend systems and data pipelines to user interfaces and AI automation, you'll not only shape our product, but also the future of our company.

You'll have immense ownership and influence. You’ll move fast, iterate, and collaborate closely on design, product, and customer feedback. If you love to hustle from 0 to 1, learn quickly and are excited about redefining how millions of people shop and sell clothing — this role is for you.

What You’ll Do

• Own the technical stack, from our foundational AI layer to the customer-facing web app
• Build and scale Retrofit’s AI inventory personalization and curation agents
• Help define engineering processes, product direction, and early team culture
• Mentor, and guide other engineers as the team grows, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement
• Bring your own ideas to life through testing and iteration with customers!

What You’ll Need

• 3+ years of experience building and shipping full-stack products
• Enjoy solving novel problems with high amounts of technical and product ambiguity
• Practical experience with LLMs and AI infrastructure
• Track record of high ownership, autonomous execution, and willingness to work hard
• Strong communication skills and product intuition
